      Autumn Health

      Boosting Immunity

Flu season is upon us! As the weather shifts, more is demanded of our bodies to stay warm, making us more vulnerable to coughs & colds. School is back in session and people are grouping together indoors, giving viruses and bacteria more of a chance to spread around. Boost your immunity now *before* you catch something!

Warming spices are great for this time of year, so enjoy your chais & pumpkin spices. Ginger, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & cardamom are great additions to foods & warm beverages. Stay warm! As sad as it is, we have crossed from fall jacket season into winter coat season. Even if you don't normally bust those out till it's in the 30's, keeping toasty will give your immune system more resources to work with.

Curries, soups, sweet potatoes and all the delicious harvest vegetables are great to incorporate into your diet right now. Make sure your veggies are cooked- it's easier on your digestion. Garlic, onion, turmeric, cumin, oregano, thyme & ginger are great immune boosters to cook with. Sourkraut, citrus, blue berries, pomegranate, shiitake mushrooms and spiruluna are also really good for the immune system.

If you do catch something, boil up spring onion & a bunch of ginger for 30 minutes and drink a cup 3 x a day.

But *before* catching anything, come in for an acupuncture session! I can help your body adjust to the change of seasons, warm your core & boost your immunity while addressing any other imbalances specific to your constitution. Let's get you on optimal footing *before * the winter starts, so you can sail through it in excellent health

Message me to schedule a session!
