      Summer

      Dear Montpelier,

Summer is upon us!  It is so amazing to see all the wildflowers, lush green leaves covering the beautiful trees, and get into the cool waters of our rivers and ponds again :)  While the vitamin D of the sun shine is surely brightening everyone's mood and very possibly handling many other winter aches and pains, the heat can come with its own toll on our bodies.  After a weekend in the sunshine, heated conditions that involve a rapid heart rate can easily occur.  These include anxiety, insomnia, high blood pressure, head aches, dizziness, fevers, and thirst.  Dry skin and mucosal membranes as well as allergies and a change in digestion are all standard responses to high temperatures and pollen after such a long winter.  Certain types of arthritis can flare up in the heat, and with renewed levels of summer time physical activity, sprains and other kinds of injuries can also sneak up on people.  Lyme symptoms can become exacerbated, as can other autoimmune responses.

Acupuncture is a great way to  handle any and all of these concerns.  Different points on our bodies can increase fluid generation and others can clear heat.  Some handle pain, and others bring  head aches down.  Some open the sinuses and other relieve itchy eyes.  Some handle pain, and others address the healing up of tendons.  There are points on every single person's body to bring down blood pressure, to increase blood flow, to speed up metabolism, calm the nervous system.  Each one of us is perfectly designed with areas on our own bodies that, when stimulated, can move us back into a space of physical & emotional health.  Come in and get a treatment!

We put in the needles and let your body heal itself :)

      Happy Summer!

      With reverence,

      Lara
