      Facial Paralysis Progress

Slow & Steady Wins the Race

This is the progress my patient with facial paralysis has made since getting acupuncture from me for the last year.

She had a very severe reaction to the flu shot 6 years ago, resulting in cataracts in both eyes, hearing loss in one ear and being completely bedridden for a year. Doctors ignored her headaches for 5 years, telling her (drumroll please) that she had *anxiety!!!*

17 doctors later, she finally got an MRI which revealed 2 brain tumors on her facial nerve. Had this been caught earlier, had she been taken seriously by her 5th doctor, her 8th doctor, even her 11th, her prognosis would have been very different. This is an example of one of the many ways that western medicine perpetually fails women.

She underwent brain surgery which resulted in left sided facial paralysis. That was in May 2021. She was at a 5 on the Haus-Brackmann scale. A 6 is complete paralysis with no chance of recovery. A 5 is "unlikely to recover." She started coming to my clinic in October 2021. By April she had moved to a 3, "highly likely to recover." Her MRI in April showed that the remaining tumor had shrunk!

I have been doing scalp and facial acupucnture on her, with electrical stimulation. I have been focusing on re-enervating her brain and face, while simultaneously moving blockages and reducing the tumor. I have also treated her trauma and exhaustion with other points on the body. Some days she has a headache, and we can't do facial or scalp acupuncture. Some days she is not up for the electrical stimulation. Many weeks she has come in twice. She is fully committed to her recovery and I admire her for her dedication.

Although I care about all of my patients, some cases really take over and stand out. This is obviously one of those. She told me to go ahead and share the photos and story
