      Happy Holidays!

      Digestive Health

Happy holidays! This time of year, people tend to struggle with indigestion. Help regulate your belly with ginger tea. You can drink it throughout the day, or after your meals. Cooking with ginger can also help with digestion. Hawthorn is another good herb for digestion. This helps specifically for fatty meats or dairy. For a good potent tea, combine ginger, hawthorn and orange peel. The easiest way to do this is boil the peel from one orange, with chopped ginger about 3/4 the size of your thumb. Boil these for half an hour in a medium size pot of water. If you *can* get hawthorn berries, add a handful of these in at the beginning. If you *can't* then get hawthorn tea bags. Pour yourself yourself a cup of the orange ginger tea, and add in your hawthorn tea bag.

Prebiotics are great to have on hand for big meals and all their left overs! Take a prebiotic half an hour before your meal. Remember to drink plenty of water between meals & make sure you're eating some good greens before all the cookies and wine take center stage.

Enjoy! Pleasure is essential to our well being. Hopefully these tips will help your holiday be even more pleasurable!
